About Psi Chapter - Cornell University

The brothers of Psi Chapter at Cornell University are highly visible on campus, always seeking to lead by example and make their presence known. The brothers refer to the acronym C.L.A.S.S. as a model to improve themselves on a daily basis.

Character

The men of Pi Kappa Phi exhibit character in their daily lives, frequently postponing their personal agendas to assist a brother. Character is being composed, confident, willing to learn, and enjoying each situation. The brothers of Pi Kapp grow and learn from each other on a daily basis. With each brother bringing something unique to the house, the willingness to teach each other amplifies the bonds between them; from skydiving to poker, Pi Kapp's strive to "Build Better Men". The growth of an individual as a member of Pi Kapp compares to no other undergraduate experience. Pi Kappa Phi

Leadership

Pi Kappa Phi prides itself on leadership, both within the house and throughout Cornell's organizations. Brothers are encouraged to take on executive positions and chairmanships within the chapter, and in the process develop the skills necessary to successfully lead a group of people. Brothers use these skills to become important leaders throughout Cornell. Currently, Pi Kappa Phi is home to the IFC VP for University and Community Relations, Cornell University EMS Equipment Officer, President of Cornell Materials Society, Representatives on Cornell Student Assembly, VP of Slope Media, President of Ultimate Frisbee, and President of Cornell Economics Society, as well as various other leaders across Cornell's campus. Pi Kapp's are found throughout Cornell's organizations and will continue to hold positions of influence in the future.

Academics

Pi Kappa Phi is committed to helping its members achieve the highest standards of scholarship. Pi Kappa Phi is recognized as one of the top academic fraternities on the CU campus and currently ranks among the top three fraternities in GPA. Scholarship is the foundation upon which Pi Kapps build their college careers. Still, the brothers manage to keep their grades up while remaining actively involved on campus. The Student Assembly, Class Councils, Sprint Football Team, Golf Team, Ultimate Frisbee team, Student Agencies and many other organizations currently contain Pi Kapps.

Service

Pi Kappa Phi is the only national fraternity that operates its own philanthropy organization, PUSH America, which serves people with disabilities. The Cornell Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi is highly involved with PUSH. Last year, our chapter raised over several thousand dollars in our extremely successful fundraisers: Best Jugs on Campus and Terror on Ridgewood Road. The chapter also puts on other events for the brotherhood like empathy dinners and volunteering excursions to promote leadership through service.

Journey of Hope

Tim JOH Each summer, 81 undergraduate and alumni members of Pi Kappa Phi from across the United States cycle 4,000 miles from San Francisco, CA, and Florence, OR to Washington, D.C. participating in activities and events to promote a greater understanding of people with disabilities. Through team member fund raising and corporate sponsorships, the event raises more than $500,000. In recent years, Psi sent brothers Brock Pooler, Adam Barry, Terrence Zimmerman, and Tim Lutz. This year, Psi chapter supports Raymond Fuega on his journey. If you would like to donate to either PUSH America or to Raymond Feuga, follow the link here.

Sportsmanship

Pi Kappa Phi competes annually for the All-Sports Championship, which is an award given by Cornell's Intramural Department to the Greek House with the most success over the course of a single academic year. Pi Kapp's compete vigorously, relying on different brothers to lead the team in the various sports, all while maintaining the highest levels of sportsmanship. No matter what the outcome of the game, each one is a bonding experience for the brothers present, whether they are the players or the fans.
